Certain medical devices have been stuck in their development for a while. This is the case of medical helmets for our kids. For years, kids who have to wear a medical safety helmet, are using devices similar to bicycle helmets therefore bulky and non flexible pieces.

WOM is a proposal of safety helmet that pretends to unite the new technologies of high-impact-absorption foams (Poron®) and textile design. Poron, a non-newtonian foam, thanks to it’s proprieties allows a volume reduction of 50%. This foam has been isolated by designing a reversible felt bonnet that hides the sock-absorption foam blocks between two layers of moulded felt.

On one side, the modules are divisible, creating a fun and playful pattern while on the other side the bonnet looks discreet.
